Alex Killorn (upper body) questionable for Lightning

TAMPA — C Alex Killorn is questionable for Thursday's game against the Flames, with coach Jon Cooper saying a call-up is possible.

Killorn suffered an upper-body injury in the second period of Saturday's 4-3 win over the Capitals and did not return. He did not practice Monday; he is day to day and due for re-evaluation when Tampa Bay returns to practice Wednesday.

"It's not a long-term thing," Cooper said. "But he's definitely a question mark (for Thursday)."

Cooper said Killorn tweaked something, but it's not related to the injury Killorn suffered Oct. 20 when he hit his head/neck into the boards after a fall during a morning skate in Edmonton. That forced him to miss four games.

If Killorn can't go, C Cedric Paquette or RW Mike Blunden could get called up from AHL Syracuse.

High praise: RW Ryan Callahan has been teammates with D Anton Stralman since 2011 with the Rangers, but said "he's playing some of the best hockey I've seen him play."

Stralman is tied for the NHL lead at plus-13, racking up nine points (one goal, eight assists) while averaging more than 20 minutes a game in the top pairing.

"He's been nothing short of sensational," Cooper said. "Anton Stralman may never win the Norris Trophy, but there's a really good chance his partner will. He makes people look good."

Drouin watch: With Killorn out, touted LW Jonathan Drouin saw action on the second power-play unit in Monday's practice. He didn't have any power-play time the past three games.

"He's 19 and he hasn't played 10 pro games yet," Cooper said. "He's doing great for us. Jo Drouin is going to find a way on a power play, there's no question. May it be Thursday, may it be three Thursdays from now? That might be the time. We're going to nurse him in there. There are other parts of his game he's learning and getting better at each day. He's just got a lot of junior habits in him and we're slowly learning the NHL way. He's right on target."

Ice chips: D Radko Gudas sported a black left eye at practice, stemming from his fight Saturday with Capitals RW Tom Wilson. He wore a protective shield, which he will use the next couple weeks, but said no serious damage was done to his nose or face. Gudas was coming to the defense of G Ben Bishop, who was run over by Capitals RW Eric Fehr.

"I think anybody on this team would do the same," Gudas said.
