Former Lightning coach and general manager Jacques Demers made his first public appearance since having a stroke in April at the Quebec Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony Wednesday night.
Demers, 73, was inducted as a coach. He won the 1993 Stanley Cup with the Canadiens and was twice voted coach of the year in his 14-year NHL career.
He was with the Lightning from 1997-99, when he was fired.
Demers can speak only a few words and has paralysis on his right side. His brother Michel spoke on his behalf at the induction.
