Yzerman: St. Louis won't be traded

TAMPA — Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman isn't sure what will happen by Wednesday's trade deadline.

But Yzerman doesn't anticipate making any blockbuster deals, and certainly none involving veteran right wing Marty St. Louis.

That's not a surprise. The Lightning was never shopping the 2003-04 league MVP. But with St. Louis' name recently coming up in trade rumors, Yzerman made his stance clear Friday: St. Louis, 37, isn't going anywhere.

"He's one of our best players," Yzerman said. "One of the best players in the league."
