DURANT — Brian Snead, Devin Black, and Markeis Colvin each scored twice for Armwood as the Hawks completed another undefeated season, beating Durant 35-6 on Friday.

Armwood (10-0) trailed 6-0 early, but reeled off 35 unanswered points. With an eye on next week's playoffs, most of the Armwood starters were gone early in the fourth. Snead, the team's leading rusher, exited just one minute into the second.

Key play: Leading 7-6, Snead put the finishing touches on his short evening. The senior tailback broke off left tackle, headed for the sideline, and trucked a Durant defensive back on the way to a 29-yard score. The play capped a 10-play drive, the Hawks' longest of the night.

Key drive: On a night of few Durant offensive highlights, the Cougars' first drive gave brief hope. Starting from their 25, the Cougars marched to Armwood's 28. Carlton Potter then finished the nine-play drive by lofting a perfect go route to Agiye Hall, who settled under it to give Durant (7-4) a short-lived 6-0 lead.

Stars of the game: Black finished an efficient 12-of-16 for 187 yards and two touchdown passes. The senior dual-threat QB also chipped in with 74 yards rushing. … Snead ran for 76 yards on nine carries to go with two scores. Colvin made the most of his lone catch, scoring from 20 yards. He also took a punt 57 yards for a touchdown to cap Armwood's scoring. … Larry Anderson rushed for a game-high 88 yards on 19 carries.

Stat of the game: Armwood's stifling defense held Durant to one yard rushing in the first half.

Final word: "I'm a senior this year and I know it's my last go around. Last year I gave it all I had, but there's going to be an extra dog in me this year to get what I want, and that's a state championship." — Black
