DURANT — Durant (6-3, 3-3) suffered two losses Friday night. Bloomingdale (6-3, 5-1) got the Class 7A, District 9 victory, and the Cougars likely lost star running back Cameron Myers for the season with a fractured collarbone.
Key drive: After an interception from Jalen Jackson, the Bulls drove 35 yards and capped the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run from Charles Montgomery to go up 21-6 with 9:08 left in the third quarter.
Key play: On third and 9 with less than three minutes to play in the first half, senior quarterback Tyler Hunter found junior Terrel Ferrell for 12 yards to give the Bulls a 14-6 lead.
Key stat: Ferrell had 174 all-purpose yards.
Final word: "I couldn't be more proud of our seniors. Tyler Hunter has been through a ton. The effort from our defense and defensive coordinators to hold them under 15 points is big because they've been rolling. That's a big win for our program." — Bloomingdale coach Max Wagner
