ST. PETERSBURG — In a nondistrict matchup between 2A teams, Zephyrhills Christian (7-2-1) struck quickly and never looked back, spoiling homecoming for Admiral Farragut (5-5) with a 28-7 win Friday night and enhancing its own chances for a playoff spot.
Key plays: It took Zephyrhills Christian about 17 seconds to get on the scoreboard as Tommy Scott took the opening kickoff and raced 95 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown. … The Warriors' Kaybion Marbra hauled in a 43-yard pass early in the second quarter, and on the next play Alonzo Sampson rumbled 29 yards into the end zone to put Zephyrhills Christian ahead 14-0. … Marbra made a one-handed interception at his team's 14 to kill a Farragut drive with 1:04 left in the first half. … Kenneth Cordova threw a 40-yard touchdown to Zion Roland to put the Blue Jackets on the scoreboard for the only time midway through the fourth quarter.
