The NHL on Wednesday fined Predators forward Ryan Johansen $5,000, the maximum amount allowed under the collective bargaining agreement, for elbowing the Lightning’s Brayden Point during Tampa Bay’s 3-2 overtime win Tuesday.

Johansen elbowed Point in the head at 9:07 of the second period, and was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct.

Point left the game briefly but returned.
