Jeff and Penny Vinik have agreed to a second postponement of their divorce proceedings while working on a potential reconciliation, the Lightning owner told the Tampa Bay Times on Friday.Penny Vinik filed a petition in early June in Hillsborough County court to dissolve the marriage, but the couple agreed to an abatement a few weeks later that put the case on pause. The original abatement was due to expire next week.“We extended the abatement another two months this week,” Jeff Vinik said from the couple’s summer home in Cape Cod. “We are reconciling very well, and I am extremely optimistic that we will have a positive resolution to some of the challenges that we’ve had.”Along with owning the Lightning, Vinik has been the driving force behind the Water Street development project in downtown Tampa. Together, the couple have been among Tampa Bay’s leading philanthropists. John Romano can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org . Follow @romano_tbtimes.
