‘One of those games that makes new hockey fans’: Twitter reacts to Lightning-Panthers

The Lightning take Game 1 of the opening-round series against their in-state rival on the road in a “classic.”

SUNRISE — Sunday’s Game 1 battle left many hockey fans excited for the matchups to come after the Lightning won 5-4 over the Panthers.

“I just had the best seat in the house for (the game),” coach Jon Cooper said. “And it was quite a hockey game. Two exceptional teams going at it and that’s why it’s the greatest sport in the world. We just witnessed why with that display of those two teams.”

Game 2 is slated for 8 p.m. Tuesday, and until then, replays and highlights will have to suffice.
