Lightning re-sign Gemel Smith to two-year contract

The forward had three assists in five games with Tampa Bay during the 2020-21 regular season.

The Lightning have re-signed forward Gemel Smith to a two-year, two-way contract, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced Friday.

Smith, 27, skated in five games with the Lightning during the 2020-21 regular season, contributing three assists and a plus-3 rating. He had three goals and six points in three games with the AHL Syracuse Crunch.

Smith has played in 88 career NHL games with the Lightning, Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars, recording 12 goals and 24 points.
