TAMPA — The Lightning lost some depth on the blueline in free agent Andreas Borgman, who agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Stars Wednesday afternoon.
Borgman, 26, split time between the Lightning and their AHL affiliate this past season, contributing two assists in seven games with Tampa Bay. He had three goals and two assists in 12 games with the Syracuse Crunch.
The defenseman was called up from the taxi squad in late March to help out a shorthanded blue line while Ryan McDonagh and Erik Cernak were out with injuries.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native went undrafted in 2017 and signed as a free agent with Toronto that May before the Lightning picked him up as free agent in October 2020.
