What's hot: Our first cold front is expected this weekend, which should make for a great week of fishing. Inshore, redfish continue to be the hot bite in Tampa Bay, but have spread out in St. Petersburg. Very high tides in the morning have kept reds near the shoreline. They have been eating live scaled sardines, but the bait of choice has been cut ladyfish or cut pinfish.
Tips: The snook bite will improve as the water temperatures drop into the low 80s. They have been caught on live scaled sardines, with heavy chumming. The mangrove snapper bite should be pretty good this weekend, but you may have to get out at night with the full moon. The bait of choice: live shrimp or small scaled sardines.
