Marc Topkin’s takeaways from Rays 8-5 win over Royals on Monday. * Nobody knows how Nate Lowe will do in the majors, but he comes up with a solid foundation. Manager Kevin Cash noted several times in talking about Lowe that he not only has showed he is a good hitter, but also that he has the confidence, plus the cool and calm demeanor, that can lead to success. * Infielder Yandy Diaz is surely going to cool off at some point. Everyone does. But the Rays might as well ride him as long as he’s hot. Monday was his eighth game in the last nine with at least one hit, and his sixth straight driving in a run. He came in leading the team with seven homers and 13 extra-base hits.* Nate Lowe and his family certainly should be most happy about his promotion to the majors. But his progress from 13th round draft pick has been impressive, and that’s something the entire Rays organization – scouts, player development, training staff – share in. “A lot of high-fiving,’’ manager Kevin Cash said.
