The Wilmer Font era in Tampa Bay ends almost one year from its beginning.

Font, who was acquired from Oakland on May 25 last year, was traded to the Mets on Monday for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

Font teased the Rays with one strong month before a lat strain put him on the disabled list the rest of the season. He struggled this spring and throughout April.

RH Ryan Yarbrough was sent back to Triple-A Durham after Sunday’s rainout and two upcoming off-days lessened the possibility he would be needed for bulk innings.

RH Casey Sadler and infielder/outfielder Andrew Velazquez were called up to replace Font and Yabrough.
