Rays vs. Angels lineups, Wendle returns

Joey Wendle returns to the lineup for game two of the Rays series against the Angels.

Second baseman Joey Wendle makes his return to the lineup after a long stint on the injured list. Wendle, 29, went down with a fractured right wrist on April 24.

“It’s great to be back in there,” Wendle said. “Obviously the goal was to come back and contribute immediately, so I’m looking forward to get the opportunity tonight.”

Austin Meadows also joins the lineup and returns to the outfield tonight. Meadows, who came in to pinch-hit against the Angels in the series opener, fouled a ball off his foot against the Athletics on Wednesday.
