The Rays will open spring training 2020 with a Feb. 22 game against the Red Sox and finish — for now, anyway — with a March 23 game against the Phillies in Clearwater.

In between they’ll host 16 games in Port Charlotte, including six on the weekends; play four with the Braves, their new neighbors in North Port; and make a rare trip to the East Coast, going to West Palm Beach to face the Nationals on Feb. 28.

Under the current schedule, the Rays would finish exhibition play on Monday March 23 and have two days off before hosting the Pirates in the Thursday March 26 season opener. But they may add a Tuesday March 24 exhibition at the Trop, which has been their usual way to wrap up the spring and also get some game experience at their home park.
