The dish

The Rays open spring training this week in Port Charlotte with pitchers and catchers working out for the first time at 11 a.m. Thursday and the full squad together starting Feb. 18. Workouts, usually at 11., last about 2½ hours and continue daily through Feb. 21 at the Charlotte Sports Park (2300 El Jobean Road). For information: (941) 235-5025.
