Game day report: Rays vs. Yankees, 1:05 in Port Charlotte

The Rays have their spring training home opener today in Port Charlotte, and amid all the pomp and circumstance, plus having the Yankees in town, most of the attention will be focused on Yoshi Tsutsugo.

The free agent addition from Japan will make his debut in a Rays uniform, playing leftfield and batting fifth. Today’s game is on TV (Fox Sports Sun) and radio (620-AM, 95.3 FM).

Just about every move Tsutsugo has made has been watched closely, with more than 20 journalists from Japanese outlets on hand during early workouts. The Rays have taken to steps to accommodate him, including adding bidets to the clubhouse bathrooms.
