Angels and former Rays manager Joe Maddon’s Respect 90 Foundation will provide meals to Tampa Bay-area homeless shelters this week in the 12th year of his Thanksmas program.

Partnering with Tampa-based PDQ and Glory Days Grill restaurants, foundation volunteers will deliver individual boxed meals — in line with COVID-19 safety protocols — to the Salvation Army and Metropolitan Ministries centers in Tampa, St. Vincent de Paul in St. Petersburg and the Homeless Empowerment Program in Clearwater.

Florida-based DivvyUp will provide 1,000 pairs of socks.

The program, which provides meals, supplies and grants throughout west central Florida, was started by Maddon in 2006 and held annually through 2014. Maddon left to manage the Cubs in 2015 and brought Thanksmas back to the Tampa Bay area in 2017.

He and his wife, Jaye, are in California this year and won’t be able to attend for the first time.
