PORT CHARLOTTE — Outfielder Randy Arozarena emerged as a star for the Rays last season. Now his brother, Raiko, has a chance, signing with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Raiko Arozarena is a goalkeeper who played the past three seasons in Mexico, most recently for the Cafetaleros de Chiapas (The Coffee Growers).

“I‘m very happy that we’re going to be close to each other,” Randy Arozarena said Tuesday. “I know he’s worked and he’s sacrificed a lot to get to the position that he’s in, and I’m looking forward to see him play in a different level in a different place.”

Growing up in Cuba, Raiko played more baseball and Randy more soccer, then they switched.
