ANAHEIM — The Rays continue their West Coast road trip tonight as they open a three-game series against the Angels, first pitch 9:38 Tampa Bay time.
The bullpen has a new member, as right-hander Calvin Faucher was called up from Triple-A Durham. Faucher was acquired last July from Minnesota in the Nelson Cruz deal; the Rays gave up pitchers Joe Ryan and Drew Strotman.
Faucher, who was 1-3, 5.65 at Durham, will be making his major-league debut.
Ralph Garza Jr., who pitched Saturday and Sunday in Seattle, was sent down.
The Rays are starting lefty Jeffrey Springs, hoping he can go about four innings as he transitions from a multi-inning relief role. The Angels are starting free-agent addition Noah Syndergaard.
Also of note, outfielder Manuel Margot was named AL Player of the Week.
