TORONTO — The Rays’ rotation for next week’s Wild Card Series appears to be set.
Under the current plan, Tyler Glasnow will pitch Game 1 on Tuesday, with 16-game winner Zach Eflin working Game 2 on Wednesday and Aaron Civale Game 3, if it is needed, on Thursday. An official announcement is expected this weekend.
Who the Rays are playing has not been determined yet, but the Blue Jays are most likely, with the Astros next in line. That could be finalized late Friday depending on results of several games.
Also unknown are the game times, with Major League Baseball and ESPN waiting to see what the four matchups will be.
Glasnow is 10-7, 3.53 this season, including 0-1, 6.75 against the Blue Jays. Eflin is 16-8, 3.50, and 1-0, 1.29 vs. Toronto. Civale was 7-4, 3.43 going into his Friday start against the Jays, who he is facing for the first time.
