Rowdies win 5-0 at Charleston

Tampa Bay now returns home to face Birmingham next Saturday.

The Rowdies routed host Charleston 5-0 on Saturday night to reclaim first place in the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference after 24 hours in second.

Lucky Mkosana scored twice in the first four minutes for Tampa Bay (13-2-7, 46 points). Malik Johnson, Zach Steinberger and Jaime Siaj also scored. Goalkeeper Macklin Robinson, playing in place of injured John McCarthy, made four saves.

In three previous visits to the Battery’s MUSC Health Stadium, the Rowdies lost every game without scoring in 270 minutes of play.

The Rowdies host Birmingham at 7:30 next Saturday at Al Lang Stadium.
