LEESBURG, Va. — The Rowdies lost 2-0 to Loudoun United on Friday night, heightening the stakes for next weekend’s match with Indy Eleven at Al Lang Stadium. Tampa Bay (16-7-9, 57 points) remained in fourth place in the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference but missed an opportunity to put pressure on the teams around it as they jostle for playoff positioning.The Rowdies could fall to fifth if Indy Eleven, in fifth place entering today, gets a win or tie at home against Memphis 901 on Saturday night. The difference between fourth and fifth place is hosting a quarterfinal versus playing it on the road.Alioune Ndour scored in the 50th minute and Gordon Wild scored deep in stoppage time for Loudoun, which is 14th in the East.The Rowdies looked out of sorts in the match. They had just two shots on target. Loudoun had four.The Rowdies suffered a big loss when midfielder Dom Oduro left the match injured after an awkward fall 25 minutes in.The Rowdies were without Jordan Doherty, who was serving a one-game suspension after getting two yellow cards last weekend against Louisville.
