The No. 12 Miami Hurricanes' next two games have been rescheduled because of positive coronavirus tests and quarantining within the football program, the ACC announced Monday evening. The game originally scheduled for Saturday against Georgia Tech has been tentatively moved to Dec. 19. That game won’t be played if the 'Canes are in the ACC title game — which also is set for that day in Charlotte, N.C. — and if the result doesn’t directly impact the conference championship picture.Miami’s next game (at Wake Forest) has been pushed back a week to Dec. 5. To make room for that, the North Carolina game also has been pushed back a week to Dec. 12.“We are disappointed that we will not be able to play the next two weeks as scheduled, but this decision was made in the best interests of the health and safety of all teams,” Miami athletic director Blake James said in a statement. “The health and safety of our student-athletes is always our top priority, and we will continue to follow the conference’s protocols in order to safely and responsibly return to play.”• • • HOW CORONAVIRUS IS SPREADING IN FLORIDA: Find the latest numbers for your county, city or zip code.
