bethune-cookman 27, delaware st. 7: Host Bethune-Cookman, ranked 17th in Division I-AA, jumped out to a 21-0 lead and won its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener. Quentin Williams threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns, and Michael Jones rushed for 132 yards for the Wildcats (4-1). The Wildcats capitalized on punting miscues by the Hornets (1-5, 1-1) to score three touchdowns in the game's first 11 minutes.

jacksonville 29, drake 14: Ulysses Bryant rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns, including a 59-yarder late in the fourth quarter, and the host Dolphins (4-1, 2-0 Pioneer) won their fourth straight. Kade Bell had 259 yards passing and one touchdown for Jacksonville. Drake (2-3, 1-1) trailed by three at halftime but had four turnovers on four consecutive possessions to start the second half.

morgan st. 24, FAMU 9: Robert Council ran for two touchdowns and was 7 of 11 passing for 121 yards for visiting Morgan State (3-3, 2-1 MEAC). Chase Varnadore scored all Florida A&M's points with three field goals, including a 53-yarder. Gerald Hearns had 16 carries for 100 yards for the Rattlers (0-5, 0-1).

butler 49, stetson 41: Sam Schrader ran for 193 yards and four touchdowns for visiting Butler (3-2) in the Pioneer League opener for both teams. Stetson (2-3) led 20-14 at halftime.
