Westbrook ties Chamberlain at 31 triple doubles

OKLAHOMA CITY — Russell Westbrook had his 31st triple double of the season Thursday to help the Thunder beat the Spurs 102-92.

Westbrook had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists to match Wilt Chamberlain in 1967-68 for the second-most triple doubles in a season. Oscar Robertson tops the list with 41 in 1961-62 in which he finished the season averaging a triple double.

Victor Oladipo scored 20, and Enes Kanter added 14 and 10 rebounds for the Thunder.

Kawhi Leonard scored 19 for the Spurs. They had won nine straight. San Antonio dropped two games behind the Warriors in the race for the best record in the league. Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Kyle Anderson sat out for the Spurs.

Westbrook scored 15 in the first half, and the Thunder led 56-49 at the break.

Game Highlights: Andre Drummond had 20 points and 16 rebounds, and the host Pistons held on for a 106-101 victory over the Cavaliers. LeBron James had 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for Cleveland. … Austin Rivers scored 20 and Chris Paul added 19 to lead the visiting Clippers to a 114-98 win over the Grizzlies.
