USF's home football opener makes a merciful return to an evening time slot this season, though it won't be broadcast on traditional TV.
The American Athletic Conference announced the Bulls' Sept. 1 game against Elon at Raymond James Stadium will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be available on ESPN3. The announcement was among several times/TV designations revealed by the league on Thursday.
Last year's USF home opener — against Stony Brook on Sept. 2 — kicked off at 4 p.m.
Additionally, the league announced the Bulls' Sept. 15 game against Illinois at Chicago's Soldier Field will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by the Big Ten Network. The Oct. 12 game at Tulsa, one of only two Friday games for USF, will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN.
