Look for the Biletnikoff Award committee, which omitted Bulls senior Tyre McCants from its preseason watch list, to amend that oversight soon. McCants had 10 catches for 99 yards Saturday, and has 16 receptions in his first two games. And, yes, the Biletnikoff committee adds players to its list as the season progresses.

Notice how the previous criticism of Bulls offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert mostly has ceased? Widely blasted last year for seemingly predictable play-calling, Gilbert employed jet sweeps, screens, zone reads and other assorted schemes Saturday. USF finished with 224 rushing and 202 passing yards.

Had the Bulls lost Saturday, any appearance in the Associated Press rankings likely would've been out of the question until late October (when they travel to Houston). Now, they should at least collect several votes in the next balloting.
