I figured East Carolina would either look amazing or awful to start, considering it spent the past week and a half in Orlando because of Hurricane Florence. Turns out the Pirates channeled their emotions well, scoring on their first possession and forcing the Bulls to go three and out on their first drive.
The decision to move Khalid McGee from safety to linebacker continues to pay off. The Bulls' leading tackler through three games had an early tackle for loss, a pivotal fourth-down stuff and broke up a third-down pass.
Although the kicking game remains rough (to put it politely), the punting game does not. Trent Schneider's 72-yarder in the first half tied for the longest in program history. The Bulls also got a piece of an East Carolina punt in the third quarter.
