Fret no longer, local Bulls fan: Your team's game Saturday at Massachusetts will, in fact, be broadcast on an area TV station.
The school announced Tuesday afternoon the Bulls-Minutemen game will be carried live by WTTA-Channel 38, a sister station of WFLA.
USF had been working on a local-TV arrangement after hearing concerns from some fans fearful their local cable provider didn't carry the network (Eleven Sports) from which the game will originate. The only downside: a UMass-based broadcast team will call the contest.
"We reached out to Eleven Sports, which is broadcasting the game in the Northeast, and were able to work out an agreement to license the game for distribution in the bay area, and WFLA was terrific in clearing the air time and a great location in which to broadcast it," Bulls athletic director Michael Kelly said.
"We know area fans will enjoy the opportunity to cheer on their Bulls."
WTTA can be received by over-the-air antenna in the bay area. Based on your provider, it also can be seen on the following channels:
Spectrum: Channel 6 and 1006 (HD)
Frontier: Channel 14 and 513 (HD)
Comcast/Xfinity: Channel 11 and 435 (HD)
DirecTV: Channel 38
Dish Network: Channel 38
Eleven Sports is available via DirecTV, ATT Uverse and Verizon Fios. NESN (available on DirecTV) also will carry the game.
