UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton's health is improving as he continues to recover from the horrific leg injury he suffered in last week's win over USF.

Blood flow has been restored to his right leg, his family said Tuesday afternoon in a statement to Orlando's WFTV. A nerve was injured, and he will later require reconstructive surgery.

"He is recovering and healing and is receiving the best medical care," his family said in the statement.

The Miltons thanked the medical staffs of USF, UCF and Tampa General Hospital for their work.
