The Bulls have picked up their second verbal commitment in a week, this one from Lake City Columbia dual-threat quarterback Jordan Smith.

A three-star prospect (per 247Sports), Smith announced his non-binding pledge Monday evening via Twitter, two days after 300-pound Gainesville High defensive tackle Gentle Hunt committed to USF.

Excluding transfers, the Bulls now have three commitments from the Class of 2020, with Gaither inside linebacker Chance Coleman the third.

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound left-hander, Smith passed for more than 3,000 yards (and 33 touchdowns) and ran for 445 this past season. In a Class 7A first-round playoff win against Neptune Beach Fletcher, he threw for 429 yards and four TDs in a 38-10 Tigers romp.

He’s also a point guard on the Tigers basketball team.

The current Bulls roster already features four scholarship quarterbacks including arriving freshman Jahquez Evans.
