The USF football team has added another proverbial porterhouse to its meaty non-conference slate.
The Bulls announced Wednesday they’ve added a home-and-home series with Mountain West heavyweight Boise State starting in 2025. USF will host the Broncos on Aug. 30, 2025, and travel to Boise on Sept. 11, 2027.
The ’27 contest will be only USF’s fifth west of the Continental Divide.
“The Broncos have a highly successful program that has been prominent on the national stage over the last two decades,” USF athletic director Michael Kelly said in a school news release.
“And I think our student-athletes and fans will look forward to two high quality games and a trip out West to compete on the blue turf.”

The Boise addition means USF now has home-and-home or two-for-one series with the Broncos, BYU, Florida, Texas, Louisville and N.C. State over the next decade. It finishes home-and-home deals with Wisconsin (home, Aug. 30) and Georgia Tech (away, Sept. 7) this season.

Additionally, USF announced a return game in Tampa against San Jose State, initially set for 2023, has been moved to Sept. 20, 2025. The Bulls’ visit to Northern Illinois, originally scheduled for Aug. 30, 2025, will be moved to Sept. 25, 2027.
