The USF baseball team is gradually ― and dramatically ― playing its way back into the postseason.No. 9 batter Alex Bello’s two-run walkoff home run Sunday lifted USF (21-21, 4-11) to a 4-3 victory against Houston, enabling the Bulls to win their first American Athletic Conference series of the season.USF remains in last place in the AAC , but its climb to conference tournament qualification isn’t quite as steep as it was when the weekend commenced.Only the top eight teams in the nine-team league make next month’s tournament in Clearwater. USF is a game behind Wichita State (20-23, 5-10) for the eighth and final league tourney spot with nine AAC games remaining. USF and Wichita State close the regular season with a three-game series May 16-18 in Tampa.
