Tampa Bay Fashion Week is back at International Plaza

You have to give Tampa Bay Fashion Week credit for trying things and seeing what sticks.

Each year's incarnation of the annual slate of fashiony events has been a little different. While last year saw runway shows swapped in favor of smaller trunk shows in International Plaza, this year organizers are offering not one, but two runway shows. They're back in the mall again, this time in the grand court by the elevators. There are seats available for purchase, but what's cool about this approach is that it exposes the event to a wide variety of folks, people who might just be passing through shopping. It kind of reminds me of the Florida Orchestra's mall efforts, designed to do the same.

There are other TBFW events outside the mall as well. Here's the full lineup.

TBFW Sip & Shop Soiree

This networking event and exhibitor boutique gives you a chance to meet folks from the local fashion scene and buy designer items from LulaRoe, Kenzie Lee Vintage Bijoux, Teal Bliss Boutique and Rogue Swan. Includes drink specials and raffles. Free. 6-8 p.m. at the Hideaway, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd, Tampa.

Fashion Photos & Prosecco

This event celebrates fashion photography, AND cupcakes and prosecco. The second floor of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts has a little something for everyone, but the third floor is reserved for a museum members-only experience with Leslie Joy Ickowitz, founder and editor in cheif of VERTICAL Tampa Bay, discussing photo shoots and the stories behind them. While you're there, check out the Jerry Uelsmann exhibition in the gallery. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 400 N Ashley Dr, Tampa. Free for museum members, $10 for non-members. If you want to get a membership, the $10 will be applied toward it.

Swanky Soirée

The seventh annual Swanky Soirée features food from eight local restaurants, wine, flaming coffee, desserts and more to benefit Brookwood Florida, which provides a residential program for at-risk girls who have suffered abuse, neglect and family dysfunction. $150. 6:30-9:30 p.m. NOVA 535, 535 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, St. Petersburg.
