Tampa's newest record store, Steelworker Records, throwing 'Twin Peaks' party on Friday

A new record store has opened up in Tampa, just one mile way from Microgroove.

Steelworker Records, located at 708 W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, had its grand opening Sept. 3. And they've wasted no time setting up their next event, a release party for the vinyl version of the Twin Peaks soundtrack this Friday.

The event runs from noon to 7 p.m. and will feature cherry pie doughnuts and coffee from Datz Dough, Twin Peaks buttons and episodes of the David Lynch show running on a loop. Click here for details.

The store also has a screening of the documentary Ain't Nothing Like Being Free scheduled for Tuesday, and who knows from there? Some pretty memorable events have happened in Tampa record stores, and it seems like Steelworker Records may soon have some of its own.

There's also a party for the Twin Peaks-inspired Stranger Things at St. Pete's The Bends on Sept. 16 and the actual band Twin Peaks playing on Sept. 14.
