On Jan. 26, the iconic pop punk band Blink-182 "broke up." Bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker released a statement about founding member Tom DeLonge and his "indefinite leave" of the band after 20 years. After the statement was released, DeLonge posted an Instagram picture stating he "never quit the band." In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Hoppus and Barker addressed the growing problems of the band. Barker commented in the interview that DeLonge was "just bummed because Mark and [Travis] were finally honest," and that's why he posted the Instagram picture. A similar event happened in 2005 when DeLonge left the band to "spend time with his family and create … music with his new group Angels and Airwaves." Blink got back together in 2008 after a plane crash that seriously injured Barker, prompting DeLonge to reach out and eventually put the band back together. For right now, Blink-182 is composed of Hoppus and Barker, with Hoppus taking on the role of lead singer for the time being.
