Morgan helped push for an amendment that voters passed in 2016 legalizing medical marijuana. When lawmakers passed a bill that Gov. Rick Scott signed into law, it didn't include allowing patients to smoke the drug. Morgan objects to the smoking ban.

• A third worker burned by molten slag last week at Tampa Electric Co.'s Big Bend Power Station died Wednesday evening at Tampa General Hospital. Contract worker Antonio Navarrete, 21, of Wimauma died from his injuries sustained while attempting to unplug a tank containing lavalike slag with six other men on June 29, said his employer Brace Industrial Group.
