Top things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of Sept. 10-16

Tampa Bay Rays: It’s Family Fun Day and Dog Day at Tropicana Field for Sunday’s game versus the Oakland Athletics. There will be giveaways, a doggie kissing booth and games to benefit animal charities. Family Fun Day features free parking for cars with four or more people. During the game, there’s a batting cage, face painters and balloon art. After the game, kids can run the bases and enjoy a DJ Kitty dance party with mascots. Kids ages 14 and younger get a free toy truck. Ticket prices vary by game. tampabay.rays.mlb.com.

Batman Day: Multiple comic book stores and bookstores nationwide will join in this DC Comics celebration of the Dark Knight on Saturday, with free comic book giveaway, cosplayers, raffles, games and other giveaways. Find a local store at dccomics.com/batmanday.

WMNF Birthday Party: The community radio station celebrates its 39th birthday with today with Street of Dreams, a speak-easy event with Prohibition-era cocktails, a buffet, live music and a burlesque show at Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe (5119 N Nebraska Ave., Tampa. $35). Then on Friday, they’re opening the studios to the public. It’s free, and you can bring a dessert to share. wmnf.org.

Try a New Taco: New taco-centric restaurants in Tampa Bay

Music: Friday, Scorpions will Rock You Like a Hurricane at Tampa’s Amalie Arena ($45.75-$125.75). Saturday, country singer-songwriter Dierks Bentley will perform at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on his Mountain High Tour with special guest Brothers Osbourne and LANCO ($31-$90.75). Also Saturday, the biggest names in freestyle, including Taylor Dayne, Expose, Lisa Lisa, Stevie B and Nu Shooz hit the Amalie Arena for the Super Freestyle Explosion ($35.50-$150.00).

Wild’N Out Live: The original cast from Nick Cannon’s comedy variety show will engage the audience at the Amalie Arena on Sunday ($31.75-$145.75). amaliearena.com.
