Two Hernando County corn mazes offer fall fun

MASARYKTOWN — Cooler weather and Halloween are just around the corner, which means the return of one of the favorite autumn activities in Hernando County — finding your way through a corn maze.

Two local farms are offering mazes and a variety of activities:

Harvest Moon Farm, 15990 Stur St., Masaryktown, features a 5-acre corn maze with more than 3 miles of twists and turns. There is also a barrel train, a 70-foot jumping pillow, a petting farm, a pony hop and a pumpkin patch.

The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 2. Admission is $11.95; free for ages 2 and younger. Discounts are available for families, groups and field trips. Call (727) 373-4811 or visit harvestmoonfl.com.

Sweetfields Farm, 17250 Benes Roush Road, east of Masaryktown, is offering its annual 5-acre corn maze through Nov. 2.

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with special hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 27. Along with the maze, there will be children's activities, farm animals, hayrides, a pumpkin patch and fresh vegetables available. Vendors will be on hand with food, drinks and other treats.
