Don't have a cocktail shaker? Use this instead: Trying to make a sophisticated cocktail at home but lack some of the equipment? Don't worry. Here's a way to fake at least one part of the drinkmaking process. For shaking martinis, Manhattans and the like, a spill-proof, to-go coffee mug works as a substitute for a cocktail shaker. Simply add all of your ingredients to the mug with some ice, screw the lid on tightly, place your finger over the sipper spout and start shaking. Then, when you're ready to pour, use the spout and rest assured that the lid will allow the liquid out and keep the ice in.
