You know what might improve a pint of beer? How about a scoop of ice cream? Maybe not together, but heck, a craft root beer float is a good idea. Big Storm Brewing has decided to beat the heat by adding 18 flavors of ice cream at a walk-up Big Storm Creamery window at 12707 49th St. N next to the Big Storm Brewing taproom in Clearwater.

The brewery plans to sell beer-inspired small-batch desserts they way they release limited edition beers, said Big Storm partner L.J. Govoni.

"When the ice cream is gone, itís gone and may never return," he said.

Flavors include traditional vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, and other fun varieties like birthday cake, toasted coconut and salted caramel pretzel (that one has to go with beer well, right?). Then add in soft serve ice cream, Italian ice, shakes, iced coffees, nitro coffee floats and other items and Big Storm becomes a real thorny decision-making process.
