It's difficult to discern whether Red Lobster's new lobster and waffles is crafting a parody or paying homage to the southern-style comfort food staple. But they've definitely drawn people's attention.
Announced Monday as part of the Lobsterfest limited-time menu, Red Lobster's new lobster and waffles mixes seafood chic with the pizazz of a caloric hangover cure.
For $19.99, the iconic seafood chain will be offering fried Maine lobster on waffles made with its Cheddar Bay Biscuit Batter and covered in maple syrup.

Some are calling it an affront to waffles, others a stellar Friday night:
Found out Red Lobster is making a "lobster and waffles" except the waffles is made with their biscuit batter and it's the only thing I want to eat right now— Courtney Hughes (@heartsahughes) March 27, 2018

I'm not sure I'm totally on board with this cheddar waffle with lobster and maple syrup thing. Seems like you're doing too much @redlobster— Jason Ditz (@jasonditz) March 27, 2018

No end date has been announced for the Lobsterfest event.
What do you think? Will you be making a special trip to Red Lobster to pick up an order of this strange, cheesy, seafood hybrid?
