WESLEY CHAPEL -- A taste of Christmas and the Fourth of July in early November?
The nightly Symphony of Lights returns to The Shops at Wiregrass for its 10th year on Saturday. Among the other festivities, it will feature a one-time fireworks display following the lighting of its massive Christmas tree at 6 p.m.
Before the fireworks, a 10-man horn band will perform live music starting at 5, to go along with stilt walkers, costumed characters, face painting, balloon artists, carolers and free bundt cakes.
Santa will arrive to The Shops' central courtyard at 6 p.m. on the brand new "Wiregrass Express Train."
Photos with Santa will be offered Saturday starting at 7 p.m. and will be available every day until Christmas. Saturday also will be the first day The Shops will offer skating on synthetic ice, through Jan. 6. Hours and fast-pass purchases for Santa photos can be found here.
Saturday will be the only night that features fireworks, according to a release. The Symphony of Lights shows, however, will occur four times a night until Dec. 31.
After Saturday, the shows at 6 and 8 p.m will feature music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Shows at 7 and 9 p.m. will also feature popular music from the holidays, in addition to TSO.
And for those counting, Christmas is 50 days away.
