Emmy winner Ray Romano added a celebrity touch to Thursday's red carpet premiere at the Palladium in St. Petersburg of The Investigator, a faith-based movie written by his brother Richard Romano and primarily filmed around Tampa Bay.

The Investigator is a fictionalized account of Richard Romano's experience as criminal justice teacher and baseball coach at a Catholic high school while his own religious faith was in doubt.

Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Parenthood) is represented as the main character's supportive brother, a successful TV star.

The Investigator, directed by local filmmaker Curtis Graham, opens Sept. 13 at less than a dozen theaters nationwide including BayWalk 20 in St. Petersburg and Centro Ybor 20 in Ybor City.
