Get 'Happy': Pharrell leads Tampa's Jingle Ball lineup

Get Happy, Tampa. Pharrell Williams is finally coming your way.

The Voice judge and Grammy-winning singer and producer is one of the biggest names on 93.3-FLZ's 2014 Jingle Ball lineup, the Tampa station announced Thursday. Joining him at this year's sixth annual celebration of pop music, set for Dec. 22 at Amalie Arena: Globe-dominating DJ Calvin Harris (Summer), British pop queens Jessie J (Bang Bang) and Charli XCX (Fancy), and 2014 chart-toppers Magic! (Rude) and Meghan Trainor (All About That Bass).

Tween heartthrob Nick Jonas will make an appearance (though it's unclear at this point whether he'll be performing or acting as something of a host). And rounding out the initial Jingle Ball lineup: R&B singer Jason Derulo (Talk Dirty), EDM sensation Kiesza (Hideaway), British boy band Rixton (Me and My Broken Heart), South Florida rapper Jake Miller (Collide) and Canadian teen singer Shawn Mendes (Life of the Party).

At least two more big names — one of them a potential headliner — are expected to be added to the lineup in the coming weeks. But even without them, a bill featuring both Williams and Harris is a knockout.

Harris is consistently ranked by Forbes as the world's top-earning DJ, thanks to gigantic crossover hits like We Found Love, Bounce and Awooga. And Williams — an omnipresent radio force the last two years thanks to huge singles Happy, Get Lucky and Blurred Lines — is one of the biggest male pop artists working today. Tampa's Jingle Ball, the final stop on this year's eight-city, Clear Channel-orchestrated Jingle Ball Tour, is one of only a couple that will feature Williams, who will be tied up with his role on The Voice until mid December.

This year's Jingle Ball will follow the same format as last year's, with a free outdoor pre-show featuring Trainor, Miller, Mendes and Rixton; and a rotating stage inside Amalie Arena.

Tickets will go on sale to 93.3-FLZ Online Prize Pig club members at 10 a.m. Thursday; public tickets hit Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Oct. 18. See 933flz.com.
