Disney World adds pixie dust, interactive play to Peter Pan ride queue

Published Jan. 27, 2015

Peter Pan's Flight, one of the most popular rides in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, also had one of the longest, most monotonous, snaking lines in the searing Florida heat. But this week, the crowds got a look at upgrades that take the line indoors for sweet air-conditioned relief and add some interactive playtime. You will now see Tinker Bell fly around as you pass through the Darling house and see your shadow come alive on the wall and interact with it, including let a butterfly land on your finger. Plus, Tinker Bell will drop a sprinkle of pixie dust on visitors. Folks who choose the FastPass+ system for Peter Pan's flight do not travel through the new queue, which is still in a soft opening stage of testing now. The official opening date has not been announced but it has been operating most of the time in the last few days, Disney World visitors have reported. Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Times staff writer
