Traffic was badly snarled on the Howard Frankland Bridge after two semitrailers were involved in a crash Tuesday morning in the northbound lanes, according to multiple reports.
The collision blocked multiple lanes for hours, but officials reopened the entire roadway before noon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol's live traffic website, troopers responded to the bridge about 8:15 a.m.
Traffic reports indicated that the backup caused delays of as much as 2½ hours.
