USF men's hoops schedule released

In the wake of an 8-25 season, USF has dialed down its non-conference men's basketball schedule, from brutal to modest.

South Carolina is the only Power Five program on the Bulls' 2016-17 non-American Athletic Conference slate released Thursday afternoon. The Bulls play their first home AAC contest against Houston at noon on New Year's Eve.

The Bulls' entire '16-17 schedule can be found here.

Last year's non-conference slate included Kentucky (84-63 loss), N.C. State (65-46 loss) and Seton Hall (66-49 loss) as well as the Gamecocks (81-63 loss).

For the third consecutive season, all AAC teams will play an 18-game conference schedule, including a home-and-home with eight teams and two one-plays. USF will play Houston and SMU (in Dallas on Jan. 7) one time each.

USF plays its lone exhibition game Nov. 7 at home against Nova Southeastern, and opens the season four nights later against Florida A&M in the Sun Dome.
